[SOLVED] 2080TI With good specs but bad fps

Hello, let me tell you my specs first

RTX 2080TI FE
i7-8700K overclocked to 4.8 with H100i v2
32gb Corsair Vengeance Rams
Z390 Aorus Pro Mobo
Corsair 850x powersupply (850 watt)
1TB SSD, 2TB HDD
Case: Cooler Master K500L
Monitor : Acer XB271HU, 1440p 2k ips 144hz overclocked to 165hz

So i think my specs are pretty good,
My problem is i get lower fps than youtube benchmarks
for example in GTAV, i have it on steam (SSD), my average fps on 1440p on very high settings is 85-90fps
But all youtube benchmarks with same specs or even worst than me are getting average of 135-145fps
And they get around 88-95 fps on 4K,Which is what I'm getting on only 1440p

Another example in Fortnite Epic settings they get average of 140-170fps on 1440p
But i get 100-130fps, i checked more than video and threads they all get similar frame rates, except me getting much lower than them.

My GPU temp is lower than 80
My CPU temp is lower than 82
I know its kinda high but i think that's shouldn't effect my fps that much
So guys if you know why is that happening for me let me know i really need help, Thank you

You need to use 2 separate cables, there is absolutely no question on that period.

Look in Nvidia Control Panel under 3D Settings and make sure DSR is turned off. Mine has been enabling itself after every reboot and sapping 20% in BFV on my 1080 ti. The last few drivers have been doing this for some reason, it's really annoying.

All my pcie connectors are 8+8 like this one in the Pic

Is it okay to use two of this and leave the other 16pin? (8 from the first connector, and 8 from the second connector ) Or i better buy a single 8pin pcie connector? (2 of them)

Looks clean and already 2 pieces, when i get it , i will immediately send the results .

It's not the gauge of the wire.

The issue is that the PSU can't supply the power off a single 8 pin connection from the PSU.

Doesn't matter if there are 2 connections on the other end, it's still one 8 pin on the PSU end.

This here is all a 2080Ti and Corsair RMX 850 over on the other forum, same issues for the most part. Jonny Guru rang in as he works for Corsair.

Raising power limit or cranking fan 100% we can name "oc"?

Hello. Haven an question. My card 2080 Ti Aorus. When i raise power limit from 100% - 133% and fan speed from auto to 100% i have higher boost clock,starts at 2025mhz. All clocks are default stock. So is this oc,we can call this oc too? When i left stock power limit 100% and no crank fan speed ma...

I tested 2 games, GTA V , Fortnite

I got like 5-10fps boost, i think the card should give me more than that, but yes i noticed that the performance is higher than before with like 5-10 fps

Fortnite: Before 100-130, Now i'm getting 100-140 , i know not a big difference but at lease its an improve.


I don't think that's what 2080ti fps should be..

and i wanted to ask you, the core clock that i got which is 1,920 MHz < Is it low? or just normal

On the low side, not too bad, should be 1950 for the Founders card and that's what it after you changed.

The founders cards don't boast as high as some of the high end partner cards do so you are fine now. 👍

Thank you so much i didn't know that i have to connect both PCIe , Anyways looks better now, Marked as best answer, And thanks to the other guys that helped,
I will never buy Founder Edition Cards again , Same price or even higher than aftermarket, but higher temps + lower performance .

You can do a small OC on the core easy, just bump it like 75 to 100 Mhz and test it.
