Specs
AMD XP 2200+
Volcano 11 hsf with silver goop
A7V8X MOBO
512 of decent DDR333
450 wat PSU (good one, can't remember brand)
ATI 64 meg 9K
80 gig PATA drive
120 gig SATA drive
DVD
Burner
and a plethora of case fans
I have a 2200+ (unlocked) on a A7V8X-1394 board with 512 of DDR333 and it runs hot and won't O/C much. It normally runs in the neighbourhood of 48 degrees C (not o/c'ed) at idle and will go up to around 53 degrees when I have o/c'ed at 11.5 x 166 (1909), I can push it up to around 2k, but that's it, no farther, it is rather unstable at 2k and will crash when pushed. When it is running at around 2k, you could fry bacon on the hsf (low sixies under load).
I'm getting a little p/o'ed that this thing won't go faster. I am about to give up on it and buy a 2500+, but I want to give it a chance first.
