Hi everyone , ive been trying to fix this problem all week and im officially losing it, i always read this forums but ive never had to make a post

System
AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 3GB
24.0 GB (7.93 GB usable)
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 10 Home
B450M BAZOOKA PLUS (MS-7B90)
INSTALLED PHYSICAL RAM 24GB
TOTAL PHYSICAL MEMORY 7.93 GB
AVAILABLE PHYSICAL MEMORY 3.33 GB

My ram used to work, 24 GB would be available without any problem
My computer started having issues, so i thought i would reinstall windows and start fresh
but after i did, i realised im only getting 7.93 GB ram available,, so i know my ram works, somthing just isnt right

sofar i have
updated bios
I've tried the msconfig maximum memory
Have tried the virtual memory set to custom/system managed size/no paging file
Have restored the bios to default
im not the best with computers, but im good with google and following instructions
i have tried many other things but nothing seems to work,

edit- as mentioned , i used to get 24 GB ram and have no issues before i reformatted my computer, i just tested each stick individually, and only the 1x8 gb ram stick seems to work, i have tried them all in all slots, what could this mean ? the 1x ram that works is different to the 2 other ram sticks that worked previously but computer still reads 3 Sticks and 24gb installed ram

if anyone has any advice on what to do to fix this problem i would be a very very happy man thank you

(Verify that I found the applicable User Manual.)

How did you install the RAM?

Per the manual (reference numbered Page 26) the first physically installed RAM should be placed in DIMMA2.

"Always insert memory modules in the DIMMA2 slot first."

Failing that, read and work through the User Manual step-by-step to double check everything.

Sir, you are an absolute legend, thank you!!
although my 3rd stick is still not reading , after first turning it on with that slot filled, I turned it off, then placed another ,
For once I see 16gb ram!
For some reason though, when I put the 3rd stick.in, it goes back down to 8gb
I’m more than a happy with 16 gb though for what I need it for, unless you may have another amazing idea,
Just wanted to say thanks again, you have no idea how many forums I have dug through and YouTube videos that did absolutely nothing !

You are welcome.

RAM should be installed in matched pairs for dual channel use.

Very likely that 16GB will work well overall.

The "third stick" may not meet the required RAM specs and/or not a supported configuration. Go to the manufacturer's website and look for the specs. Compare to the working RAM sticks.

One handy tool for learning about the installed RAM and its configuration is CPU-Z.

Free.
