Looking to play the witcher 3 at 60 fps+ but need a good 24 1080p inch because current 27 incher at 1440p is way too demanding fps wise(might aswel go g-sync too) Current gpu is 980 strix bdw and I dont plan on going sli

I personally wouldn't be so reserved about monitors in general, because, let's face it, when you game or do whatever you are doing on your computer, you are going to be staring at the monitor for the longest, and a lot of your experience will come from the monitor itself as well (in some cases, even more so than from GPU), so a good monitor to the OP's liking goes a lot further than sparing a few bucks on it.

Buying a cheap monitor to go with expensive GPU's is like buying a Ferrari with wooden seats. It'll be great if all you do is stare the Ferrari, but as soon as you go use it, it'll be uncomfortable as hell.

@chenw:
that is the reason why I am fighting hard inside about to buy or not to buy Acer XB270HU.
It is 120Hz IPS monitor with GSync...it has everything I want in a monitor right now.

On one side, I have already a quite powerful rig (might add a second GTX970 if needed) but... on the other side...€750 is really heavy only for a new monitor.
If only it was €200 less than I would have bought it.

I hear ya, I had debated with myself whether or not I want the Swift. A lot of hair pulling was done.

However, due to my long working hours and lack of rent, I had more disposable income. Which made the Swift an easier argument for me at the time (if Taiwan had it, I probably would have gone with the Predator instead, but alas, Swift remains the only G-Sync monitor available).

I am also a huge sucker for new technology, like as in I would decide my purchases based on it. It was also an opportunity to try several new things at once. I came from a VX2770-SMH, so it was an upgrade of resolution, refresh rate and new G-Sync all in one 😛.

Tbh I already have a rog swift but the fact that I cant run the latest games at a constant 60 fps is kinda ticking me off
