24-inch HDTV as a PC monitor, what do you think?

I seriously want to consider using this HDTV:

Sony 24-inch EX430 Series BRAVIA TV (model KLV-24EX430)

as a PC monitor, which will be connected via an HDMI cable to the Radeon HD 4350 (low profile) graphics card. I will use this monitor only for office purposes (read and write a lot of documents), internet browsing and watching video (maybe Blu-ray) with Windows 7 as operating system. I can buy this HDTV directly from a local store for about $200.

Is the text on this HDTV will look different or worse (blur) rather than using the LCD monitor? Please advice and help?

It depends, for the most part though it should be fine depending on how far away it is.

Generally speaking, text on a HDTV will not be as sharp as on a monitor probably because the pixel are aligned differently.

Logically, I think with the same resolution (1080p) and size (24-inch) will probably have the same pixel size (pixel pitch) of the LCD monitor, HDTV should also be able to display the text as sharp as LCD monitors. Please explain deeper?

In general, text on HDTV seems to look less sharp than text on a monitor. That implies the shape / arrangement of pixels in a LCD panel used for HDTV is different from a LCD panel used for a monitor. Text will still be legible on a HDTV, just not as sharp as on a monitor.

The pixels on an LCD TV are generally larger , but it also has to do with the way the TV processes the image. For the most part though, for a screen that size you won't notice a whole lot of difference I don't think. If the shop has a good return policy, then try it and see.
