[SOLVED] 24 pin connector won’t connect to mobo

i bought a white extension sleeve cable and my gpu extension cable works fine but for sum reason my 24 pin connector won’t click in can anybody help, and would it still work if it isn’t clicked in

So long as there is no gap between the connector and the socket, I'd say it should work fine.
