So I am building a new pc and I decided to use the psu out of my old one, and I am just plugging everything in and the 24 pin won't go in. So i looked at it and as far as I can see the layout is completely different on the psu connector to the motherboard socket.

The square pins are trying to go into the half square half round holes and vice versa

Do I need a new psu?

PSU: Cooler master 550w Bronze psu
Motherboard: Gigabyte A520m ds3h

Solution
On the first photo the bottom right pin goes into the top right hole In the second photo
In the motherboard pic, I believe the top 4 holes (2 rows) are not used.

The cable is 20 pin, the board is 24 pin.

Other than that, the keying lines up exactly.
ATX is ATX. There isn't a "different one".

Oh wow I am stupid, I had the extra 4 pin plug around the other side on the 20 pin plug, stupid me never thought to move it to the other end. . . This has me stumped for an hour. Sorry for wasting your time lol
