Hello! I’m new to all things overclocking etc. and recently i got a good deal on G.SKILL Ares DDR3 2400 C11 2x8GB.
I know the mb doesn’t support 2400mhz ram so it automatically downclocked it to 1333mhz. I got the sticks to boot with 1866mhz on stock voltage and auto timings. I tinkered around with the timings and now they are 8-10-10-24. I stress tested the ram on prime95 custom test with these settings for 2 hrs without errors: min fft size 448, max fft 4096, memory to use 12000.
MaxxMEM2 results:
Copy: 11031 mbytes/sec
Read: 12055 mbytes/sec
Write: 5487 mbytes/sec
Latency: 58.2ms
They seem kinda low.
Is this the absolute best i can squeeze out of these sticks on my setup? The cpu fx 8350 and bios are on stock settings except for the ram timings.
Games and everything work great! I’m just wondering if theres still some extra potential to unlock
All input is very very much appreciated!
