Question 240hz monitor only showing up to 120hz

i have a amd ryzen 7 and a nvidia geforce 3060ti and a samsung-odyssey gaming crg5 series 27 inch monitor which is a 240 hz. when i try to set my monitor to 240hz, the only available option is 120hz. i am using the cable provided from the monitor.

Please help

Make sure you select from the PC section of the NVIDIA control panel.

Which cable? Display Port or HDMI? You need to be using Display Port.

As above use the DP cable the monitor should of came with one DP and 1 HDMI cable.

I am using the display port i connected it to my pc. i also connect all the cables provided from the monitor onto the pc but yet im not able to see 240hz rather 120 instead.

I did i plugged the DP in the slot that says “DP in”

Yes i checked the manual but yet the inly available option is 120 rather 240

Which Ryzen 7 exactly do you have? Just asking to make sure it isn't a 5700g, and you are hooked to the motherboard, instead of the GPU. Fairly common mistake, that people make.

I checked display settings and the nvidia control panel; only available option is 120 on both. In addition i did check the PC section, selected it and its only available hertz is 60: “1680 x 1050” compared to the ultra HD,HD,SD section, “1080p, 1920 x 1080”

When you go to display and advanced display settings does it show your monitor or just say generic.

I just guess that your computer does not know how capable your monitor is.

They should be a drop down to change it to your monitor or could be a driver for your monitor you need to install.

Sorry for the late reply! i sort of gave up but i just fixed the generic issue i believe and i updated my drivers yet im unable to achieve the 240hz. I also downloaded the samsung monitor installer and it is running as displayport .
