Hey guys I just bought a Swiftech H240-x and I was thinking of expanding it to include my r9 290x.

This will be going in a Bitfenix prodigy with a 230mm fan blowing in are at the front and a 140mm exhausting air with the 3x120mm fans at the top (one doing push on the rad and then 2 doing push pull as on the h240x the other fan place is taken up by a pump)

Thank you for all your help!

I can only give you my best guess based on my H100i cooling on my R9-290 (O/C to 1.1ghz core, 5.2ghz mem).

Corsair link is reading 28 degrees idle, and about 32~ degrees load for the coolant. When I was using the H100i to cool my 4690K, load temps would force the coolant up from 25 to about 30~ IIRC.

Point being, the TDP of the 4690 is roughly 25% of the 290, so I doubt it would stress your cooling loop much more than if it were only the 290X alone. Fans might work a little harder
