Question 2500k + 1050ti bad combination?

Hello. I have 2500k not oc and an 1050ti 4GB with 12GB of ram and I cant get good results in any game..
I reinstaled windows and installed latest drivers and im still having bad results.
Gta online has 30-40 fps no matter what setting I use, low or high, doesnt matter.. is my cpu that bad? Will overcloacking my cpu boost my performance?
I had r7 360 2gb before 1050ti and I had stable 60fps on low. What seems to be the problem? I even cleaned my pc and changed cpu thermal paste

Alas, the 2500K with it's 4 threads was mostly adequate in 2011. It's older design makes it lag behind newer designs, and, even more so against CPUs with at least 6-8 threads.

However, if you had adequate frame rates with another GPU, then you should have at least similar FPS with a newer one, if not better. Often, despite best efforts to change GPUs, driver paths and game settings optimized prior to the swap can lead to botched performance.

If installing to an SSD, Win10 can be completely reinstalled in about 5 minutes these days, 20 more minutes for chipset/ GPU driver installs/updates, 20 more minutes for WIndows updates, then install problematic games FRESH with new GPU. (YOu want games fresh installed with newest hardware, not run from another drive when configured for an earlier hardware config)

See if problems persist afterward....

That cpu was a beast during its time but that's been over a decade ago. Its days as a gaming cpu have passed by.

What cpu do you recomend but to stay on the same mobo socket? Or will overclocking 2500k help*?

Gta online is special case, it has low FPS because of other players network connection. This CPU is still adequate today when OC'd.

For 2500K overclock is a must. I have mine paired with a 1070TI and I am getting 60-75 FPS in any game. Only exception is Microsoft flight simulator 2020.

You went from AMD to Nvidia, according to this has Nvidia a driver overhead problem which maybe makes things worse for you,
