2500k 4.5Ghz bottleneck at 144hz at 1080p with gtx 770 sli

My 2500k at 4.5Ghz is bottlenecking my graphics cards (gtx 770 sli at 144hz) atm and i was wondering if i could remove the bottleneck by upgrading my cpu to a Intel Core i7 3770K. Would this work?

The difference between those 2 CPUs in games is usually very small. You'll need to aim higher if you want there to be a difference you can actually feel.
