Going to buy a PC, wondering if going ultra wide is the right choice or stick to traditional 1920x1080 for gaming. My question really is will ultrawide downgrade my fps by too much, looking to play AAA games mainly ultra to high set.
Specs:
Ryzen 5 2600
RX 580 8gb

I have the RX 580 on a 4K freesync monitor. and yea a BIG difference between 1080P and 4K.. but with that said the games I play I just turn the scaling down a bit for the 4K monitor and it works great.. when I am in the market for a new monitor I will probably go with a 2560 X 1080 one myself (I have 2 1080P and the 1 4K hd monitor).. your RX 580 8gb should be able to drive the ultra wide monitor just fine. though you may have to turn it down the scaling down a little on some games or not ultra on a few.

The RX580 should handle the extra pixels well enough but be aware that very few older games will support that kind of wide screen resolution. If you like to replay the classics from time to time, ( like me 😉 )sticking with a standard HD display may be a better choice for you.
