Hello im just finishing up picking out my last parts for my gaming PC and just want to get an experts opinion on the question above. I want decent frame rates 120+ if possible but the question is do I need to pick out a different graphics card to reach said expectations? Thanks in adance!

Why 120+? The human eye can see no more than 60-70 at the very most.. Unless you were born with super powerful sight. The frames will vary from game to game there's no set amount for all. It really depends on how graphically demanding the games you intend on playing are

Ranging from any FPS like Battlefront/Battlefield, Black Ops 3 and FFXIV

You'll get well over 100 FPS (BF4), probably 120. To my knowledge Fallout4 gets around 90-100 ~ on 980ti with g sync. Whether it's 100 or 120, it makes 0 difference other than the number on your screen. GTX 980ti is best for g sync

I can see the difference in 60 and 120 easily. Everyone's eyes are different. But you'll be fine on bf4 maxed out maybe no AA but the others you're gonna have to tone down a setting or two. Will or did you OC?

Not true.

That was always a bit of a myth anyway, and related projected film media where they used black magic like frame blending. When it comes to a digital display, you can certainly see more than 60-70, though you are getting into diminishing returns.
I set my 144hz monitor to 100 as I don't have the power to run 144 at the settings I want, and while the visual difference between 100 and 144 is marginal, the processing cost is an extra 44%.

As to the OP, the best bet is to search for benchmarks for the games you'll play.
Generally, it won't be possible without some significant setting reductions.

Some examples...
FarCry 4: 73
GTA V: 55
BF4: 77

You get the idea. Just google "980ti bench"

The human eye sees far more than that. It sees more than 144Hz.

It's a common debate this, not really sure what the purpose of it is. Is it just trolling or is it a means to provoke and get some assumption or truth out of anger to convince them selves thoroughly enough before committing, or are they just jealous?

It's not about seeing on an exact spot if you stared at it, it's the whole surrounding of the monitor and everything that happens in that rectangular screen of yours. At such a high Hz, everything on that screen just jells so smoothly its like gliding on glass. No jitters, everything is just super smooth looking. You won't get that on a 60/75Hz monitor.
