2560x1440 or 2560x1080?

hi community! i have been playing at the resolution of 1920x10180 for a couple of years, and want to upgrade to a higher resolution set up. Nvidia surround is no good for me as i have no place to put extra monitors, however i can fit one large on. I just cant decide which one to get! I will be using the monitor almost exclusively for gaming.

I've always found vertical space to be more important and useful, which is why I have a 1920x1200 monitor instead of 1920x1080. Keep in mind that 2560x1440 is over 50% more pixels per frame, so plan your video card to have lots of pixel pushing power.
