2600k Vs. i7-3770K: Who has the faster OC speed?

Hey guys I have a 2600k and I was considering upgrading to a 3770k. I'm running a 2600k at 5.1 with a EK water cooling setup. My questions is does any one have any insight as to weather or not I will be able to achieve higher clock speeds with the 3770k? I'm reading a lot of conflicted options its becoming a little confusing.

Also does any one think it might be worth it to wait for Ivy Bridge E? I just don't think the LGA 2011 is going to have the longevity of the 1155 and at 400$ a pop for these ROG motherboards I want them to last. But if any one has an opinion about that I would like to hear it.

I run a lot of programs that are made for multi-threading so please spare me the "get a 2500k".

Thanks in advance for advice.

Ivy heats up like crazy after 1.385-1.39v, it does have a higher multiplier and is capable of higher OC than your i7 2600k but only under extreme cooling if you have a i7 2600k than the i7 3770k is pointless. I tried a i7 3770k @ 5ghz 1.53v and it reached 100c on a H100 The only time I would recommend an Ivy is if your build a new system from scratch. If your itching for a new cpu cause of E-Peen or you want to hit higher overclocks than grab the i7 2700k and sell your i7 2600k. Most seem to get their 2700k's to 5ghz+ on air low volts.

Even if you De-lid the 3770k you wont be abble to exceed your current 2600k overclock!

Keep what...

Keep what you have until Haswell comes out
