Hi guys,

I am wondering if a combination of Ryzen 5 2600x and geforce 1080 is good for at least 2-3 years of gaming on ultra or high (upcoming games)? Currently, I have i5 2500k and rx 570 8gb and I can play Ghost Recon Breakpoint on high settings with 50fps. Is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks.

Ultra/High on upcoming games would be total guesswork - although I would suspect it'll be plenty viable for a few years yet, at 1080p.

While not a guarantee, look to the past for how GPUs of the class age.
By 2022, a 1080 will be ~6 years old. A (somewhat) comparable today is a 780. Upper tier card, 6 years old.

Ultra is a little out of reach for a 780 today, but it's still a respectable 1080p card. Somewhere in the general ballpark between an RX560-RX570 for modern-day comparisons.

I wouldn't expect history to be fully replicated here, but gives you a worst case scenario IMO.
