Hey,
are you able to crossfire 4 Gigabyte r9 270s not the x version on a Gigabyte g1 sniper 5 motherboard and what psu would you need and would an i5 be fine for the cpu

Alright, lol. It's not a good idea IMO because scaling across 4 GPUs isn't the greatest, going from one to two cards, you'll see roughly a 30% performance increase in some games, with a third card, you might see 15% on top of that, and with 4, even less of a performance increase. Also that motherboard from what I can tell only has 3 PCIEX16 slots, not 4, so 4-way XFire is not an option regardless. The CPU is fine, wouldn't cause any bottleneck. A PSU for 4 cards at 150W TDP a piece is 600W, but the cards will more than likely draw about 170-180W under load, and that's not counting your CPU, fans, HDD, etc. So I'd recommend a 1000W PSU to be safe.

EDIT: About the 4 cards, that only scratches the surface of potential issues, if you'd like to know more I could explain.

Thanks I more wanted to know about 4 way crossfire and the cards were just a n example . Good explination as well I wouldn't dare do 4 way xfire but is 2 cards fine or would you rather get a 290

It all depends on what you're mostly going to be gaming on. What resolution monitor? 1080P is pretty much standard now. What kind of games? What do you think is playable framerates? i.e. 30FPS vs 60FPS. What Graphical settings would you be fine with? (Low, med, high, Ultra, etc.) There's a solution to all of these, just need to know your preferences.
