so my 280x order got canceled due to them being out and now they are at 400 instead of 320 which is what i ordered mine for.
should i wait for 280x prices to drop or grab a 770? the only reason i havnt got a 770 is because i thought the 2gb vram would be an issue. can anyone let me know if 2gb is low im not that tech savv
y haha also would crossfire 270 be an option since its cheaper than a 280x also

This depends on what resolution your monitor runs at. 1080p would be fine with a 2gb 770 but any higher and you won't have ultra settings and decent frame-rates in some games. I've got a 280x and a 1440p monitor but the only game I've tried so far is Skyrim with the HD pack. Runs pretty darn good to my eyes. I would have been happy with a 770 but I'd have got a 4gb version, a few of which run the same price as a good 280x here in the Uk.

how long do you think it will take for prices to drop because 7970s are going for way to much and all the cards around that price are sold out except for nvidia haha and if i do end up getting a 770 is gb enough? people were saying 2gb is being used up fast now days. i play at 1080p

People are giving you pretty terrible advice.

If you're running 1080p, just get the GTX 770 with 2GB of VRAM. You can buy it on Newegg and get 10% off if you sign up on a Masterpass account and use the Masterpass coupon code. You will be absolutely fine with 2GB of VRAM. Higher VRAM is only beneficial for high resolutions. Aside from BF4, I noticed the GTX770 virtually outperforms the 280x on everything by 5-10 FPS anyway.

Now if you are in fact running a higher resolution (1440p or 1600p), there is a more expensive GTX770 with 4GB of VRAM. Again, use the 10% coupon and you can get it probably for the same price as the 280x you were shooting for. At that point you would have much better graphic card all around. I recommend checking out Reddit's Buildapcsales page. They often show off great GTX770 deals with mail in rebates.

Normally I would recommend the 280x but they are out of stock everywhere and there is a massive demand for them due to litecoin mining (same for 7950 and 7970). I believe the same case is with the 270x now. Unless you're willing to wait a month or longer, you're not going to get the card for the price you want and for $400 it's a complete ripoff. If Litecoin ends up growing, it might even take longer to find those cards in stock at the original price.
