I've always wanted to get an ultrawide for gaming but have never come close to affording a 34" (2k).

That being said, I've found a nice 29"LG - IPS - 5ms response - 2560x1080 for under $200 and I was wondering if anyone can provide some feedback. Is that resolution too low for 29" for gaming (referring to games that support 21:9) or productivity (such as coding and web development)? My concern is that everything will feel too big and the monitor too short?

Right now I am using a 23" 1920x1080 monitor.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate any feedback.

Adding a second monitor of any type will be instant boost to desktop productivity.
Good idea there.

As to gaming, I do not know, but I imagine that a wider field of view would be a plus.

I have never heard of it before and I just looked it up in the internet.
The price seems okay and if you're alright with that the monitor is "short" compared to your old monitor (because its ultra wide) you could go with that.
