Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new monitor for my main setup but I'm unsure on which one to get.

I used to own two 20" Apple Cinema Displays, each at 1680x1050 which i recently sold. I'd like to replace my dual-screen setup with a single monitor this time round as personally I have no real use for the second display anymore.

So, right now I have two options in my head that I'd like to for, but I'm unsure which one.

1) BenQ GW2765HT 27" 2560x1440 LED IPS Monitor
2) ASUS PB298Q 29" 2560x1080 LED IPS Ultrawide 21:9 Monitor

Each of these are within my budget of <£300 and cost around £280, and both have had pretty good reviews online.

I'll be using the monitor mainly with my Mac Pro in OS X, but also gaming using Windows. (Most, if not all of the games I play, support Ultrawide 21:9 as I've checked.)

Computer Specs are -
Quad Core 3.2GHz Intel Xeon,
8GB DDR3,
Nvidia GTX 680.

I'm just really unsure on whether I should go for the ultra-wide for the 'immersive' gaming which I really like the look of and for simple multi-tasking, OR go with just go with just a standard 1440p display?

Thanks in advance,
Ieuan.

Ultra wide. I standard aspect ratio screen will not be able to replace your two monitor set up but the ultra wide monitor will. The pixel count is high on both monitors and more graphic power will be required if your picky about in game settings. Gaming on both would be great. I prefer ultra wide for simulations and standard aspect ratio for first person shooter.
