Question 2933 Memory will only run at 2666 mhz and won't load xmp profile

I have an ASRock killer sli/ac x370 motherboard paired with a Ryzen 7 2700x (stock cooler) and 16 gb of 2933 mhz ddr4 ram. According to the manufacturers website, the ram should be capable at running at full speed (2933) but will only run at 2666 mhz. there is also an option to load "xmp profile 1" but the pc will not boot with those changes when I try to save those settings. I am running a fairly recent bios and it states that the ram is running in single channel but in cpu z it says dual.

ram sticks are placed in A2 + B2 slots?
