why sli just save up and buy one card that will be better but to answer your question you could sli two cards with diffrent vram as long as there both gtx 960

- All GPUs must have the same amount of VRAM and an identical Bus Width
-- You cannot use a "2GB" version with a "4GB" version or "3GB" version with a "6GB" version in SLI or a 1GB 192 bit bus with a 1GB 256 bit bus Etc.
Note: It used to be possible to enable SLI on cards with differing VRAM but this is no longer available.
Note: In SLI the amount of usable VRAM does not stack. It works like a RAID1 hard disk array where data is mirrored between each GPU. For example, having 3 GPUs with 4GB VRAM means you will only have 4GB available, not 12GB.

Nvidia cards can be different brands but must be the same cards. AMD cards can Crossfire in the same family. From my understanding some 7xxx and 2xx series AMD cards can Crossfire but I'm not positive on the limitations.

People think you can sli 2gb and 4gb models because you use to be able to, but nvidia updated drivers a long time ago that actually made this impossible to do. Always save up for a single card over sli

Even when it was possible to mix and match VRAM, years ago. It was far from a plug and play operation. You needed to install Coolbits and then hack the registry to allow access to the setting.
