Solution Someone Somewhere May 10, 2014 It'll go up, but slowly. I doubt we'll hit 2GHz for a long time.
Someone Somewhere Titan Sep 23, 2012 22,291 8 84,965 May 10, 2014 #2 Um. Because it would vastly reduce efficiency, meaning you have to use fewer shaders to hit the same power, so performance actually goes down. Plus you'd need to increase the transistor sizing to handle the extra voltage needed, so each shader is larger. Upvote 0 Downvote

D dualcorebrain Reputable May 10, 2014 3 0 4,510 May 10, 2014 #3 it all comes down to temperatures and you will need extreme cooling when OCing gpu to 2ghz :O Upvote 0 Downvote
