Hi Guys,
I have a PC(Hooked to old 23 inch monitors ) and recently I have shifted to Macbook pro and after using it at that high and crisp resolution I did not like it to extend to my old monitor as OS x is looking pixelated.

Decided to buy a 2k/4k monitor.

I have a question
Does 2K monitor good for watching movies/PS4 and browsing ?

Does it look pixelated ?

or 4k is the only solution to have a great display ?

Also 4k is really expensive and if 2k is is pixelated then is it good to wait for few months for the prices of 4k to drop ?

please help me out. Thanks in advance

2k shouldn't be pixelated unless you have a driver issue.

It a hard call. 4k is expensive. the ppi of a 4k 27" display is about 163. A 25" Dell 2k monitor has a ppi of 118.

If you get 4k i will only recommend an IPS panel. A decent 27" 4k IPS can be had about £450 in the UK. Problem is a 25" Ulttrasharp IPS panel 2k display from Dell (really nice monitor) retails for £260. 2k isn't as sharp as 4k, but it all depends how much you want to pay.

I do video and photo editing so i went with 4k, other wise a good 2k panel is acceptable. BTW do not get a 27"...

This link shows ppi. you can calulate the ppi of different resolutions and screen sizes.

Sorry i haven't really answered your question. But if you are on a budget a 25" 2k IPS panel may be your coice. It you are not bothered about colour accuracy and viewing angles, then a 28" 4k might be for you.
