2k is not good to play as?

is it bad to play 2k? am i really how do i express what i am trying to ask

am i really doing something wrong playing 2k in 2021 because my hardware cant do more than that or should i just wait till i get better hardware and then play my games in 4k instead of finishing them nowon 2k

also how many people are actually playing 4k ...

i am not sure how to express my issue

i guess i can just use 2k ...

till i get my new pc

when do you guys suppose its good to invest in a new pc

and is it not useful for me to upgrade my video card on this one i already have?

i have posted my specs furhter up i can repost by request

to be honest guys 4k is just sharper than 1080p to me if you can run 1080p full aa sometimes you dont even notice it...

okay i guess i will try to finissh couple of games on 2k before i buy a new computer ig uess

IMO 2k has more monitors and displays available at higher refresh rates than there are 4k monitors.
4k monitors with high refresh rates are stupid expensive save for like, 2 at the moment.
So 2k is absolutely viable, it doesn't look bad at all.
Myself, I'm waiting for a 32" 4k 144hz HDR 600 monitor that isn't $4000.
I run a 28" dell 2k 144hz monitor and a 1080p 144hz monitor as my 2nd. Hoping to replace that 1080p one with my 2k and my 2k with a 4k.

A lot will depend on the types of games you play. I have an RTX 3080 and game predominately on a 1440p 144Hz monitor but I also game occasionally on a 4K 120Hz TV. For reaction based games I prefer the higher FPS 1440p gives me but slower paced games like MS Flight Sim I prefer the detail of the 4K TV. If I could only have one I would pick the 1440p 144Hz, it’s just a better all round option with 4K being a bit niche for my games.

As far as gaming went, I doubt any current graphic card could drive the latest graphic-heavy games at max graphics and 4K at anything like high refresh rate for a monitor anyway.

Yeah, 2K is still perfectly good. Current industrial benchmarks are done at 2K for a reason.

so if i play at 2k today its not really me wasting the games in you opinion ? so i should just play todays games at 2k and just wait for next year?

This year I can play at 2K, but I won't, because in another year I can play at 4K and anything less would be a waste.
Next year I can play at 4K, but I won't, because in another year I can play at 8K and anything less would be a waste.

Proof by induction: You'd never get to play anything. Not with this logic.

Just play your games.

They really got us with the whole 8k 60fps adverts huh XD

It all comes down to what ‘you’ want. For me most of my games are more enjoyable at a higher FPS due to their reaction based gameplay. However some slower paced games benefit from higher resolution, again personal preference. If I had to pick just 1 for all my gaming it would be 1440p higher FPS.

Also bare in mind resolution is not everything. I have a few games on both PC and Series X. While the Series X does a good job at 4K the 1440p PC equivalent looks better.

There are a lot of 1440p144 monitors on the market, and a lot of people would rather use those than a 4k60 monitor. It really depends on the kinds of games you play, and whether image quality or framerates matter more to you, and whether your hardware is capable of delivering those framerates.

It comes down to your expectations. Right now I’d rather have 1080p gaming with higher FPS and higher details. 1080p really doesn’t look bad even. I’d say details and smoothness in gaming are what to watch for now. If gpu prices normalize later then you can always get a better gpu and then worry about resolution.
