Question 2k monitor 144hz

My pc specs are ;
Cpu i5 9600k
Gpu rtx 2060 rog strix
16gb ram 3200 mghz
Motherboard maximus hero Ix
Can my specs run monitor for gaming 2k 144hz ? Im rly noob at monitors and those all kind of informations..thx

What type of games and what FPS do you want? Generally a 2060 is considered a little weak for 2k 144Hz in modern AAA game but if you are willing to sacrifice game settings it will do a good job.

The 9600k is a good cpu and does well now but some games are already pushing it close to or actually to it’s max when going for high FPS. How long that cpu will meet your needs is a question that only time will answer but it doesn’t have any headroom.

Well i like to play apex legend and would like to have 140 fps..but if my specs cant run that in 2k then is it better to buy a 1080 monitor with 144hz and 1 ms ?

if you mean 2K by 2048x1080 then absolutely since it only got a few more pixels than 1080p
and the rtx 2060 is more than capable of handling that resolution

Was thinking abkut 1440p, so whats ur opinion on that ? 2560x1440 144hz ?

Now that entirely depends on what games you play
You mentioned Apex Legends:

you will have to turn down the details to get higher frame rates at 1440p with the 2060
not even the mighty rtx 2080Ti will able to give you constant 144fps

funny thing is that i also recently upgraded to a 1440p 144/165hz monitor and that is when I realized that I will really have to upgrade my gtx 1080 if I want to enjoy higher fps than 60fps when playing newer games like SoTTR, Far Cry 5 and Control
