Question $2k+ USD AMD 2025 Build

Hey everyone,

I’m putting together a new build and could use some advice. The main thing I’m stuck on right now is the fans—Lian Li has so many variants that I’m not sure if I need the reverse fan options to optimize airflow. If anyone has experience with their setups, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I’ve already started buying some parts, but I haven’t picked a GPU yet. I’m holding out for the RTX 5070/5080, which should be releasing later this month.

The motherboard is another area where I’m unsure. AM5 boards seem a lot more expensive than what I remember from my last build (~5 years ago). Did I make a good choice pairing it with my setup, or should I consider switching to something else?

I’d really appreciate any and all advice, especially since I’ve been out of the loop on PC hardware changes for a while.

Thanks in advance!

Happy New Year!

You actually don't need to add the thermal paste to the list since Lian-Li provides thermal paste with the AIO. Looking up the part number for the ram;
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/mem...TILT3Y-qnsKXoMkVwd6XPYygWQ4snOm#tab-techspecs
the specs page state that the ram is made for Intel platforms. If I were you, I'd look into a ram kit that's got AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on it like this kit;
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/mem...s-c30-amd-expo-memory-kit-cmh32gx5m2b6000z30k
and perhaps look into a 2x32GB kit, if you're multitasking and have a lot of tabs open on your browser.

As for the motherboard, you could replace the selection with either of these;
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/83...i7-atx-am5-motherboard-x870-aorus-elite-wifi7

Regarding storage, I'd add a smaller capacity SSD for your OS, app's and launchers, if the purpose of this build is for gaming(which you haven't stated in the thread's body). If this build is indeed for gaming, primarily, then the larger, 4TB, SSD can be your game library sans any partitions.

The rest looks fine to me.

Thanks for doing a once over!

For the AIO paste I didnt know how good it was and I'm used to having to replace them for better quality paste. If Lian Li did put some good quality paste on there, thats great!

My current build has a couple of SSDs and a 2TB HDD that i plan to swap into it, I just didnt want to waste the time to add them to the list but I will update it to show that. I have a 250 GB Samsung 960 Evo (current OS drive), or an ADATA XPG 1TB (gaming drive), and I also have a SSD Sata drive I could move if I need to.

I've gone ahead and switched out the RAM, I am a Corsair fan but after a little more searching and reading up on this EXPO i went with the TomsHardware pick on the Neo, good?
