Hey all. My wife does alot of video meetings from her home business PC. I recently upgraded my monitor and she wants my old one so she can take notes while watching the meeting full-screen.
The 2nd monitor would only be used for simply text based jobs, very low power required.

I bought a USBa hub with a dvi output, thinking she could just plug it in and go. Apparently not.

Windows shows 2 monitors and sets the correct resolution as soon as monitor 2 is plugged in. The monitor turns on like it knows it's plugged in. But the screen is blank.

The PC is as follows:
Ryzen 5600g (no discreet installed)
Gigabyte b450m dh3s
32gb of 3200mhz ddr4

Does anyone have any ideas why I get no display? I tried installing the drivers off the USB hubs website.

USB to video adapters typically have limitations and only work on certain systems. Generally if it's going to work, it will work straight away when you plug it in.

Depending on version of that board (there is a V1/2/3 situation) it may have 2 ports, a HDMI and a DVI you could use.

But if you have the version with only have just the single HDMI port, probably the easiest solution to this is to purchase a basic display adapter.

Sadly the selection of these new isn't amazing, but here's 2 options and a (much better) used option:

Asus Nvidia GT1030 - 1 HDMI, 1 DVI $90
ASRock Intel ARC A380 - 1 HDMI, 3 DisplayPort $120

If you want a more affordable option and don't mind secondhand:
MSI Nvidia GTX 1050TI - 1 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort, 1 DVI $47

Thanks guys. This board is the version with only 1 hdmi output.

I guess I will send the hub back to Amazon and try and snag a very cheap used GPU instead. Thanks for the help guys
