So my computer was running fine yesterday with both monitors on, and today I updated my graphics drivers and someone said I should try something called Lightboost which basically makes your monitor CRT to explain it short. Gave me a headache, deleted immediately, everything worked fine after. Today I woke up early for class and they both worked fine, turned off my 2nd monitor and shut my computer down, went to the doctor's, booted up again. Again, everything is normal, but as soon as I turned on my second monitor my 1st would flash like 6 times over 8 seconds while stuttering and then completely freeze even if I turn off or unplug the 2nd monitor. I have to unpower the 2nd monitor and then restart my computer to be able to log in

Queue the next 2 hours of restarting and trying something else to get it to work and having no success. Here's a list that I can think off the top of my head right now that's in no specific order or near everything I did:
  • Trying to fully uninstall Lightboost, couldn't find anything different than what's given in the software that was uninstalled, so assumed already done
  • Uninstall all monitor drivers in Device Manager
  • Download drivers from online & installing
  • Reinstalling latest graphics drivers
  • Resetting both monitor settings
  • Running only 2nd monitor
    • It never leaves the black screen, but it never says "no input found" or whatever and it stays on, so it knows it's supposed to be doing something
  • Running only 1st monitor
    • Runs perfectly fine on its own, being used to type up all this
  • Running with both monitors
    • It makes it to the windows login screen, does its little flickering fit, and then freezes. 2nd monitor is still all black
  • Spent over an hour looking online
    • Everyone who had similar problems are just incapable of setting up games or were in times before 2014 and used VGAs, which I haven't used since I was like 9.
I don't know if it's at all relevant but I tried Lightboost the same day this happened so I have no idea if it's connected or not. I only tried it on my 1st monitor though so I don't know why it would mess with the 2nd if it is. I've been only using my 2nd monitor for a month up until this Saturday when I moved back in for college, so it's not like its had any problems or anything before this.

Here's my relevant specs I guess:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
  • Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX AM4 Motherboard
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB OC Video Card
  • be quiet! Pure Power 11 500 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
  • AOC CQ27G1 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor (1st monitor)
  • Asus TUF Gaming VG24VQ (2nd monitor)
I have no idea what or probably how to get any updates on software you might need, so just ask and I'll give them.

Everywhere I've seen Lightboost being talked about everyone is praising it, saying it's the next best thing, but that was probably my least favorite experience in years with computers. It felt like I was back in 2002 or something. Tbh, I don't feel like it's related. It probably has to deal with drivers or the graphics card but I have no idea how to go about fixing it.

Okay, so problem solved, once I knew my computer was actually running I knew it was 100% a graphics card problem. I uninstalled the latest graphics driver through Device Manager and instead of reinstalling with GeForce Experience I went to their website and downloaded the 2nd latest update for my card. After a restart everything is back to normal and my 2nd monitor works.

Maybe later if I'm not busy and have time to lose I'll update and see if something's wrong with the recent update or if Lightboost corrupted it or something idk. Either way, if someone reads this and has the same problem, there's your possible answer.
If it helps at all I've found out that my computer is still running fine when it freezes the screen. I tried to start the 2nd monitor while in an online class and I could still hear everything said but it was frozen. I'm going to try different ways to reinstall graphics drivers, maybe find the previous one if I can, and see if it'll work.
