Question 2nd SODIMM doesn't fit

So I bought a 2nd stick of ram for my ASUS TUF 505DU, to use dual channel 32gb ddr4. Initially I thought the new stick of ram wasn't working due to it not being recognised, however in changing it to the first slot and testing I've realised it's the 2nd slot that has an issue. Upon closer inspection the ram doesn't actually fit in all the way into the sodimm slot. Am I doing it wrong? Or is it a manufacturing issue on the laptop

More likely user error, as manufacturing tolerances are pretty tight. Not impossible, but unlikely.

here is a comparison of the 2nd slot (problem ram) and the first slot, and also the side clips lock in place and the ram slot isn't filled with anything, it just doesn't seem to go "deep"enough :/
