i added a 2TB disk and it shows only 1tb. I check in disk management and its 1tb there also. It does not show second partion or unallocated space, and i do not have "extend partition" option.

I check in WD diagnostic tool and it also says 1tb , HD Tune also says 1tb , i try acronis disk director program and also see only 1tb . serial number WCAZAE421200 WD green

What's going on here and how to see all 2TB ?

So the obvious question is where did you get this disk from, and was it new or secondhand?
DISK i buy new long ago totally forget what heppend to it and did he get some error before i find it in box few days ago and now connect to my pc

It's a 1 TB drive, not much else you can do. It's unfortunate you couldn't catch it sooner to take action, i guess be more vigilant next time.
WD20EARX is a 2 TB drive. It's listed all over the internet as such.

I don't know if an HDD can fail in such a way that it only shows half capacity, e.g. being unable to talk to half the read/write heads. Otherwise either the drive has been sold fraudulently (seems unlikely no matter who from, since the 1 TB would be seen immediately) or there's some kind of software or partitioning issue.

Try using something like EaseUS to completely wipe and format the harddrive.

Can you show screenshots from Disk Management and
Windows Storage Spaces (Control Panel\Storage Spaces) and
Device Manager - disk drives and storage controllers sections expanded ?
(upload to imgur.com and post link)
disk management nothing there i check, also on other two places you ask nothing there

this is interesting i try to format it with HDDScan and last hour or more he is on 0% and just count bad sectors

HDDScan isn't trying to format the drive (and I don't believe it can do formatting). The Erase function is for secure data deletion by writing a pattern to the drive.

Try something like EaseUS instead, asking it to entirely format the hard disk. What I'm not sure of is if there could be some kind of non-Windows partition on the disk that's taking up half the volume. It sounds unlikely, but with the other possibilities being it's a 1 TB drive with a lot of effort gone to make it look like a 2 TB drive or it's managed to fail somehow to have only half its heads working (it's 3 platter, so it's not related to those), it's the least unlikely.

You should also try contacting WD with the serial number and seeing what they say.

First off now I think of it, have you actually tried writing and reading anything to/from the 1 TB partition yet?

yeah i copy few small files on disk and delite it them works normal

i have acronis....

maybe there is non win partion wich program can see full 2TB if there is non win partion on hard disk

It's been so many years ago but I remember there is a small jumper on the back of the hard drive to set drive capacity. I never had a need to use this and also if it's still a feature. But typing this I did grab a hard drive and look at the back and there is the jumper. SATA

If this was a IDE drive those jumpers would be for Master, Slave. or Cable Select so the single jumper on the SATA drive was to lock drive to different capacity sizes.

At the very least google how to change drive capacity using jumper or how you need to word it for google to give you the info your looking for.

EaseUS can be run from a bootable USB, bypassing any OS entirely.

Stonecarver may be on to something though. Turns out these Caviar Green drives did have jumper pins on the back. I can't find anything about them limiting capacity, but it might be a by-product when trying to use a very old drive in a modern system (if you're running Windows 10/11?)

Is there any jumper at all on the back pins? If so, you could try removing it.
