2x4gb ddr3 vs 3x2gb ddr3?

Solution
Can go either/or, will prob actually get a a little better performance out of 2x4GB which can run in dual channel on your mobo even though it a native tri-channel - the extra 2GB of DRAM will over come the slight advantage of tri-channel. Also note - the 1366 mobos won't take 8GB sticks so don't even consider that
2 x 4gb will be better regardless(except for price)
The reason is that single/dual/triple channel ram speed makes little difference to actual app performance.
And... it is unlikely that you have triple channel capability on your motherboard anyway. I have not seen that on a modern motherboard in a while.
