2x7900gt or 1x7900gtx????

I am upgrading my setup to either 2x7900gt or 1x7900gtx.

It looks like 2x7900gt is the way to go, but I am a little hesitant. What am I losing when I choose this instead of the gtx?

2x7900gt = $600
1x7900gtx= $500
2x7900gtx= $1000

I don't think I will ever justify spending 1000 on video cards.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you already have the powersupply and motherboard for it, 7900GTs are the way to go.

I have the evga sli mobo & a Seasonice SLI PS 600W

I am in the upgrade que from evga for the gtx though. now i have to change my spot in the que to a reg 7900gt 🙁

It'll be worth it; that 100$ more will give you better framerates.

I still think SLI isnt worth it, parhaps buy one, and later buy another?

SLI is twice the price for 30% and within a few months a single card beats them both!

on the other hand if you have the cash then why now - bragging rights!!!

I don't know anyone that has a SLI set-up
