Hi guys,

I am planning to build my gaming PC within January next year but I need to buy RAM now.
I am not sure about specs of my future PC but guess it will be something like i5-10400 or Ryzen 7 3700X along with maybe GTX1660S or newer GPU (depending on prices). I can spend approx 1K USD in January.

Can You please advise, which of proposed will be better to MAX 90 USD?

  1. HyperX Fury 2x8GB 3200MHz CL16 (HX432C16FB3AK2/16)
  2. Patriot Viper Steel 2x8GB 3733MHz CL17 (PVS416G373C7K)
Or there is anything better within this price range that I could consider?

PS.
I like Furies RGB but it is not "must have" if performance may vary at around 10%? :)

If your are going Intel it wont help alot for ryzen Yes it might and if you can get 3700x no on earth should you buy i5 10400 also to get high speed ram on Intel will require z470/z490 over-clockable Mobo else not worth. Whereas you can get any Bx50 or Xx70 Mobo and oc ram and cpu.
Edit: Also check that your Mobo will support the 3733Mhz or not.
Check the following build it's above 1k but you could use it for 1440p and if you want 3700x build let me know.(No case in list)

Hi General, thank You for Your answer.

So better to go for these Patriots if I am not sure about AMD or Intel CPU (for AMD it will help, for Intel it will be good but won't hurt)?

Also, my Mobo now is Asus B150 Pro Gaming, so for sure it won't run anything higher than 2133 MHz BUT the question is, if either Patriots or HyperX can lower automatically their speed to adjust to my Mobo..

Yes they probably can run slower but then why to spend extra on high speed ram, insnt the reason for spending extra is higher speed? So i recommend amd build with physical 8 cores.

I mean, I am buying them for my future build, either with AMD or Intel but most probably as You said - AMD.

So for next 2 months, they will run in my old build but for future, I guess faster is better (Patriots)
