Hi Guys looking to build an occasional Gaming PC with 3 displays. I usually play third person shooter games and am ok at not running them at very high resolutions. I was wondering if the GTX 660 would do the job for me?

Also is it possible for me to play a co-op mode on one this PC with the 3 displays for 3 individual players (3 people playing on one computer and I could buy two additional gaming controllers)?

Solution
depends on the game, like 2k basketball series i believe you can use as many as 5 controllers?? not sure

660 is good, but i am not confident that it can handle a 3 monitor setup, those are for high end cards if you ask me. Frame buffer is important for this setup, may minimum of 3gb? i dont think a 660 is fast enough. you can try to use lower reso but keep in mind that using a lower resolution would not give you the best possible display since things will get blurry.

also, note that using 3 monitor will triple your resolution, yes lowering your resolution will help but it will still be tripled

thanx..

what would you say amongst the nvidia range (GTX 660, 660ti, 670, 680, 760 770, 780) would satisfy the bare minimum requirements for gaming at med to high.. games like bf3 and similar..

Any of the cards you listed will get you up and playing, but when it comes to multi-monitor setups, the more you put into it the more you get out. If your budget allows you definitely go with a 7 series card over a 6. If you can get one with more than the usual 2 gigs of ram thats even better. Personally out of what you listed I would try for the 770, but like I said, any of the cards will get you playing, but the more powerful the card the better.

Thanx..
did some more research...
Graphic cards have become really really confusing... (took a 14 year break from gaming..)

three cards that are falling in the same price range
GTX 680 2 GB - $525 GTX 770 2GB - $ 510 and the Radeon HD 7970 3GB - $510
alternatively a gtx 760 2GB for 325 dollars
bang for buck??

thanx
