3 Monitors not configured for eyefinity

My gpu that I will be installing is a Radeon 6950. I'm looking to hook up 3 monitors to the card but I do not need to run eyefinity for gaming. I would just like 3 screens for productivity reasons. I know for eyefinity at least one monitor has to be connected via display port. If I am not going to use eyefinity is it still necessary to connect one monitor via display port or could I do 2 DVI and one HDMI.

yes, it is still necessary to have one screen use display port. this is due to an issue with signal routing to display each screen, and is not dependent on eyefinity
