Good Day.

My Sons laptop Asus N76vm has a problem with usb ports, where flash thumb drives are recognized and works, but no mouse would works, only one wireless mouse works after restart.

IF no mouse or anything else is connected to usb ports it would still popup USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED, when i connect wireless usb mouse it would work after pressing scan for hardware changes, if i change the mouse from one port to another then it wont works and again need to press scan for hardware changes,

uninstalling, reintallinbg, disabloe enable, cmos cleared, windows 10, 8.1, 7 tried same error,

in windows 10 and 8.1 says USB DEVICE DESCRIPTOR REQUEST FAILED, and in 7 UNKNOWN DEVICE, Hardware IDs show in windows 7 USB/UNKNOWN.

If i connect 4 usb flash drives in all 4 ports it recognize all 4 of them but when i connect a mouse then wired mouse does not work at all ONLY LIGHT IN MOUSE WOULD LIT, nothing else, and only one wireless mouse works . In MSINFO32 COMPONENTS, PROBLEM DEVICES shows nothing.

i did all what says in different forums like power options, fast startup, usb suspend etc, any help..?

Thanks

Uninstall the devices, but do not plug them in. Then install the usb driver and chipset driver from asus:

dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/USB3.0/USB3_Intel_Win7_64_Z104225.zip
dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/Chipset/Intel/Chipset_Intel_Win7_64_Z9301020.zip

After you install those, restart computer one last time and then try plugging in the mice.

Good day, .

i did as you said. it changes nothing. no matter what i do, it would stay for a moment in other devices and when installing driver it would jump down under universal devices and stays there as UNKNOWN DEVICE. its 3 of it, wont change, and mouse just dont works,
usb 3.0 and 3.0 extensible drivers are installed. see fotos
