hey will my gtx 970 g1 gaming edition work in 3 way sli on the asus maximus v1 hero and what would the power supply be in terms of watt is was thinking maybe 800 watts

Also you can upgrade to a 2011 socket processor, the X99 boards.

I think you will be hard-pressed to fit 3 of those on one board. It's a 2.5 slot card. Do you have the room?

i will buy the i5 4690k so yeah i need a lga 1150 socket

If you want tri-SLI DO NOT USE THE GTX 970!!! For higher resolutions and detail you will run out of vram at 3.5GB. You need more vram.

Really? According to the specs it can do Quad SLi so 3 way should be doable should it not?

4k or or less depending on AA settings and textures. 1080- I still would not go with 970 SLI - I read too many problems with them in demanding new game releases. I'm sorry I jumped on the 970 bandwagon too soon. I've been an nvidia user for many years now and recommended the 970 to friends . I'm glad that they are gaming at 1080p or I'd feel even worse. Never been suckered like this before.
