[SOLVED] 3000mhz memory on Asus TUF B460-Plus?

Hello, I've just upgraded from 16gb 2400mhz RAM to 32gb 3000mhz HyperX Predator. My motherboard support up to 2933mhz, but my PC won't work when I set it that high, why is that? Also, my CPU is i5-10600k

Are you using XMP profile to change the speed or just changing the speed.
XMP profile should work.

No, I saw it running above 2666, but it won't work for me.

It was a different motherboard, but this one should work higher than 2666mhz

because your cpu work with that speed and that is limit...u can try only OC

it's a different system. My MB supports up to 2933mhz though so it should work too

How is the RAM running so high on basically the same CPU, in fact worse than 10600k? Look at the video above

try oc ram speed if u can in bios

it stuck at 2666 because you have a B460 with the i5 not i7. get a z board.

And they were using an Asus ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING. It is absolutely normal to be able to use memory with such a high frequency. It is even one of the two differences between Z490 and B460 boards. The other is the possibility to overclock K CPUs.

With i3/i5 CPUs the boards limit the speed to 2666 Mhz. It is a feature of the b460 chipset. Same with all brands.

Try manually, and come back to tell us what you got
