I have a MSI RTX 3060TI Gaming X and it is using 57-60w on idle while gpu utilization is on 2-3% on desktop and i get that by using the performance overlay from nvidia, seems pretty odd. Im using it with a 12600kf and a 1080p@165hz and a 1280x1024@75hz monitors

Hey there,

That seems pretty high for idling. Mine idles at about 20-25 watts.

In NVCP under 3d settings, make sure the power management mode setting is set to normal.

What power plan are you running in windows? Put it to balanced mode and see if that helps.

It's the lowest hanging fruit that I'm aware of. When I had a two monitor configuration with 144Hz on one and 60Hz on the other, my video card wouldn't idle properly. When I dropped the 144Hz one to 120Hz, it idled fine. And when I only used the 144Hz at 144Hz, it also idled properly.
Hmm... what a mystery.
