[SOLVED] 3070 vision pci-e problems

I’ve recently brought the gigabyte 3070 vision oc gpu.
I’ve also brought a game max 850w 80plus gold psu.
The gpu has one 8 pin pci-e and one 6pin pci-e.
The psu only has 8pin pci-e ports.
I have the 8pin to 8 pin cable so no problem.
It’s the 6pin that’s causing me the problem, as the only 6pin ports I’ve got on the psu is ide/sata! Could I plug the 6pin lead in this to my gpu? I’ve also ordered a 6+2 to a 6 cable.
Can I plung the 6+2 into the psu 8pin and the the 6pin to the gpu

Or is it ok to plug the 6pin pci-e cable into the 8pin port on the psu and then have the other 6pin end in the gpu

It says it cons with 6+2 connectors and any modern psu should. Personally I would have gone with a psu of known high quality, I’m a little dubious of this psu really being sufficient quality for a 3070.
