[SOLVED] 3070 w/ a Ryzen 7 1700?

I haven’t upgraded my processor yet and I’m thinking of waiting longer unless I have to. I currently have the 1080ti and found no reason to upgrade to RTX, after seeing the new cards hypothetically would a 7 1700 be able to at least try and keep up with the 3070? I game at 1080p mostly I have a 1440p panel but its a TN, and I enjoy my MSI VA Panel more.

Too early to tell. You'll need to wait for independent reviews on the 3000 series cards.

If Nvidia's first-party summary that a 3070 > 2080TI if accurately (or close enough), you could get a rough idea comparing 1700 + 2080TI reviews/benchmarks.
