What do you think will go better for a gaming pc the cpu would be paired with a GTX 970 on a Asrock A320m-HDV r4.0 motherboard with 8gbs ddr4 2133 i know ram is very slow for ryzen but it was free

Well considering the Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 Cores 12 Threads, but the Ryzen 3200g has 4 Cores 4 Threads you'd be better going with the Ryzen 1600 by far.

But if you are going to get a 1600, maybe try to find the Ryzen 5 1600 AF - it's basically a Ryzen 5 2600 just marginally slower. It's around $85 US I believe
