I have a CAD program with a security Dongle that ran on Windows XP, I bought a new computer running windows 8 64 bit and the program stops running and displays it cannot find security device(dongle) I asked the CAD company and they said I need to upgrade software for $550! Is there a fix to make win8-64 bit recognize the 32bit dongle?
Thank you

Thank you, I will try this. I hope to use my new computer for making my metal art.

Probably need to run XP in a VM program, You could dual boot with XP but it's support runs out next year leaving it vulnerable when connected to the net. This comes recommended

No reason why you shouldn't install 32 bit Windows, but you'd be limited to 4Gb RAM. Depends whether or not your CAD programme uses a lot of Memory...

Hi. Install Xp in virtual box. As dodger46 says, support runs out for XP next year. But if you only use XP for Cad and windows 8 for everything else there will be no problems. I did the exact same setup for a friend and has been using it for twelve months. He also runs his plotter printer in XP as well as windows8.
