For some reason I would constantly see that my computer is using at least 42% ram whenever I am actively running a game program, however it would be laggy despite only half the ram being used and I noticed that it would not go over the halfway mark despite there being 18.5 gb of ram still available to use. Can anyone help because I want to be able to use more ram but have no idea how to force the computer to use more the half the available memory. The about page and task manager shows that 31.9 gb is available.

Specs:
Ram - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32gb 2x16 DDR4 3200Mhz Ram
Graphics - Nvidia 1660 ti
CPU - AMD RYZEN 5 5600X WRAITHS
Motherboard - ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS
Power - Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

Well that's to be expected. Been gaming for many years and games are very rarely perfect.

Try vsync and limit frame rate 1fps lower than maximum refresh rate.
Windows/ games will use however much ram as necessary, you can't force more.

It might appear to you ram is causing your lag, depending where you look first, and end the assumption there, but there are other factors to consider as well. Not saying it's not ram related but i do doubt it unless ram is not running Xmp in bios.

What kind of lag are you having and in what game or games?

Check cpu temps. Run userbench website and link here to results page. Don't copy paste percentages, that's not what im after, just link to actual page please.

The main reason I was thinking that it was the ram is because I had recently installed new ram that had 32 gb instead of 16 gb but for some reason it wasn't really running any faster than my previous ones. That one was a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz

Nothing appears to be throttling in UB. Has high background usage though.

Check for malware with Malwarebytes. Under startup items in task manager, try deselect everything and see if problem stops. Assuming stutters and general poor performance. If you have any utilities installed for motherboard try uninstall those. Things like Armory Crate, known to cause performance issues.

What problem exactly are you having and in what games?
