Hello all,

I have a feeling my old phenom II x6 1055t is bottlenecking my gpu (r9 280x) so i want to upgrade the cpu.

Now i have two options:
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H & Intel Core i5-3570K for approx 200 euro's.
or
AMD FX 8320 Black Edition & Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 for approx 170 euro's.

what would you guys recommend me?
The only problem going to intel is that i need to buy a new cpu watercooling block.

Hi
What you will do with these CPUs ?
The AMD FX 8320 is a great choice for vidéo encoding and 3D editing, and it can be overclocked @ 4,8 Ghz, it will equal an i7 4770
The 3570k is a little bit old, the 4690k is very good for gaming, no much difference between them and an i7 4770

i want to upgrade my cpu for gaming because this one doesn't really cut it anymore.
i just found those two sets secondhand so that why i'm asking which one i should take.
The 4690k + a decent mobo here is new around 350 euro's so that almost double of what those sets cost.

Well as I was an owner of fx8320 I did not have good time with it in gaming, it might be because I had 97 r2 evo - I dont know, but It bottlenecked by r9 270 in some instances in bf4, not even mentioning bf3. Tho it overclocked very well, I even had it at 5ghz at some point. Tho I jumped on 3570k and ud5h for ~190 pounds. I got a pretty bad overclocker with 3570k (4.4 at 1.28v), but I have no bottlenecks now, I have gtx 770 as well now,. In bf4 CPU stays at about 60%-80% usage. So I would say if you are only gaming, then go for 3570k, meanwhile if you do some work with it, you could really have fun with these 8 cores.

So i5 4440, or FX 8350, which should be good also, desaccording to the says of Vklyvis (sorry), because a FX 8350 will not bottleneck a R9 270, and he will bottleneck only if it's a very big GPU (Bigger than GTX 770), and a FX 8350 can beat an i5 4440 in multithreaded recents games (Watch Dogs, Crysis 3), and most games will be multuthreaded soon
So, at 160 €, both of i5 4440 or FX 8350 are good choices, if you have a non big GPU, you can go for FX 8350 (Or FX 8320 with little OC)
And if your PSU is > or = than 500 Watts
