Hey, this is kind of a broad question, but can a Radeon R9 380X do 60 FPS ultra settings? I can't find many threads and benchmarks on this, since it's so new. I will be overclocking it, probably hitting around 1050 MHz on the clock speed of the card, and 6 GHz on the memory. The card is an XFX non factory overclocked card, and it'll be paired with a 4790k overclocked to 4.7+ GHz (it may seem high, but I'll be video editing and rendering too).

Solution
It'll play most Triple A titles at 60fps, but at high settings. At ultra you'll probably get 45+ FPS with r9 380x, GTX 970 and R9 390 are the cards for 1080P ultra gaming.
depends on the game, but for most new games, your not going to get 60fps+ on ultra settings. There should be plenty of benchmarks and reviews of that card:

Its amazing what google can do.......

45+ is fine, I'm usually playing 30 FPS on my Mac :p

Why do so many people feel they have to run at max/ultra settings? if you use high presets and turn off or reduce AA, you should be hitting 60fps in most games fairly constantly. There is always one or two settings that will significantly impact performance but don't increase quality noticeably, so find them and turn them off/down.

Do you know how much of a difference there is between 60 FPS? is 45 a playable, smooth state?

Also will the overclocked graphics card and processor i mentioned bump up 10 or 15 FPS in game?

Exactly as said above. heck i can't even max out witcher 3 at ultra with constant 60fps on my gtx 970 , for 60fps, i needed to turn off hairworks, which creates no noticeable impact in image quality but increased the performance alot. If i can't manage to get a r9 390 or gtx 970 i'd simply get the r9 380x and use it for a couple of years easily.

With the card overclocked, you'll get max 7-10 FPS gains, but as said, running everything at ultra is not going to happen even in r9 390 or gtx 970 in some games, but with settings a bit lowered you can get fine amount of FPS more with hardly any difference in image quality.
