A few months back, I splurged and bought a Voodoo5 5500 agp. the card set me back a good $450. I guess I didn't do my homework before I bought the card, cause it turns out that it's drivers (only 2 to choose from at the time- v1.00.00, and v1.01.00beta) didn't agree with my mainboard (epoxMVP3G2). My machine thought the card was PCI-33 and my graphics were exactly the same as my old voodoo3 2000!.
So I emailed 3dfx, and Epox my problem. Epox got back to me in 3 days, 3dfx STILL hasn't gotten back to me! Oh well, not that I care now, cause I traded it in for a Gefore256.

Yeap and plus they went out from this business. I am sorry man, but 3DFX screwed up. Enjoy your Geforce now. 😎

Thx, I AM enjoying my GeForce.
but the crazy thing is, my old voodoo3 was an awesome card, very reliable, with an excellent price, and when i felt like endulging in a 450dollar card, i got screwed, thinking that it would have the same degree of awesomeness, and excellence...I THOUGHT WRONG!!!

Very impressed with my Geforce as well - very rapid performance, and for the $150 I paid for it in Germany...

Do unto others before they do unto you...

wow geforce forever and ever and ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man i dont know .. i just think i do !!

Considering that you can buy the Voodoo 5 5500 (AGP) for $220.00 now I would say you got screwed. Sorry about that. On a diffent note.....I bought a Hercules Prophet II MX (which is faster than the voodoo 5 5500) and I couldn't get it to work on my Soyo Mobo until I flashed the bios with the most recent update. After that, it worked great!! If there is a bios update for your Mobo then I would try that. Also check on Voodoo's Web sight for the required bios settings for that card. Voodoo cards are very tempermental when you do the install. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear about that. I got screwed buying a Savage 4 32mb, the drivers are the probably the worst in the graphics card industry. I'm still using a Voodoo II, it doesn't really bother me cause I'm still using a 15" monitor anyway.

alas i miss 3dfx dearly...even if my v3 2k needs so many added fans to keep it cool that if i did over night downloads the noise kept me up 😛

(did you know that you are allowed to add a 486 fan to the heatsink of a voodoo3 without invalidating the warrenty? I think they even RECOMMENDED that upgrade.)

Your nice new PC might be faster then my 286, but my 286 makes a better door stop 😛
