Grieve,

Thanks!!!! the MB Bios update fixed it (I looked before but didn't notice Asus just came out with a new Bios).
Now my score is 9999, I like the number.

Thanks much

I have a non pci e, motherboard and I'm top dog for single card score in vista so that isn't his issue....
I had a memory stick go bad last night though 🙁 . I'm so sad now I only have one gigabyte of memory 🙁 .

Actually, your so called "record" is not really a record... its a nice score with a nice overclock... but..

the malaysians got ya!

That’s an Awesome score truehighroller...I get 11935 with my SIG below (Also Vista64)

One important thing in this thread that a lot of people overlooked is that the original person is running Vista64, everyone is comparing XP… XP annihilates Vista64 in 3Dmark06.

Your score is low. I have a 6400+ running stock, 4GB of OCZ XTC2 Platinum DDR2800, and a pair of Diamond 3870s when I run a single card I score almost 11g, and when I'm running both in CF I get low 13s. Defenitely check for driver corruption and stuff like that. Make sure your additional power plug is connected as well. Your CPU score is right on par with mine so you are good there. If it's at all possible go with the Cat 7.12s The 8.1 release should have been beta tested some more IMHO.

i dont know why my computer sucks...oh yeah, amd needs to get on their game! here are my scores...tell me if i can improve them and how!
parts are in sig...

sm2.0 3455
sm3.0 4392
cpu 1901

that cpu is killin my rig! is it a possibility that amd chipset is harming nvidia card performance? only picked up this card cuz it was 20 bucks for trade up...

Chipsets shmipsets, you are doing fine. The cpu score is what hurts you, as you mentioned. The V-card will do better w/ a better cpu. Check my rig, I get 2,150 in XP x32, 2,090 in Vista x64. My overall score is 11,100 avg. 2.0=4,853/3.0=6,397
extra 60cpu points in 3Dmark06=12,000 range. It's weird that way. W/quad core you get 3,500ish cpu score = 13-14,000 3dmarks OR O.C. to (3.2ghz) and get 15-17,000 marks
CPU score is not important. shader 3.0 matters most in that benchy.

BTW - don't bother using Tom's CPU/v-card charts. They are biased and freaking weird, for not using a standard 3dMark06 set-up. They use the pro version and don't run it at the default settings for a natural benchmark. ANYWHERE! They refuse to give the public what it needs to compare apples to apples. They are payed by nVidia and Intel to show only numbers that favor "them" anyways(in those tests). That's why you don't see a default 3dMark06 run to compare to.*** (1280x1024 - default video card settings - no AA, no AF) is 3dMark06 default set-up. NOT (1280x1024 w/4xAA, and 4xAF) they would PLOTZ if they saw the scores flop over into ATi's favor. WHICH THEY DO @ defaults!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SORRY GUYS, JUST calling it out like I see it. Please prove me wrong. I won't crY.
